MIA Health operates a telemedicine platform that connects patients with independent licensed healthcare providers and state-licensed pharmacies. It is important that you understand the distinct roles of each party before purchasing any service:
MIA Health (the Platform): MIA Health is a technology platform. MIA Health does NOT practice medicine, does NOT diagnose, does NOT prescribe, and does NOT manufacture or compound medications. MIA Health facilitates the secure connection between patients, providers, and pharmacies, and provides the tooling for intake, scheduling, payments, and communication.
The Providers (Independent Clinicians): All medical decisions, including whether to prescribe a treatment, the choice of formulation and dose, and any clinical follow-up, are made by independent, state-licensed healthcare providers acting in their own professional judgment. Providers are not employees of MIA Health; they may be employed by or affiliated with separate professional medical entities.
The Pharmacies (Compounding & Dispensing): Prescriptions for compounded medications are filled by state-licensed compounding pharmacies that operate independently of MIA Health and are regulated by their respective state Board of Pharmacy. The pharmacy prepares, labels, and ships the medication based on the individual prescription issued by the provider.
By paying for any service through MIA Health, you acknowledge this separation of roles and agree that any clinical responsibility lies with the provider, any pharmacy responsibility lies with the dispensing pharmacy, and MIA Health's responsibility is limited to the technology platform and customer support.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as secure options like PayPal and Zelle. Additionally, as part of our commitment to accessible medical care, our prescription treatments and clinical services are eligible for payment using Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.
Your clinical safety is our priority. When you request a one-time prescription (Rx) treatment, your card will not be charged immediately. Instead, we place a Payment Authorization (Hold) while the provider reviews your health history in The MIA Health App.
If the provider authorizes the treatment: The charge will be processed, and your order will be shipped. If the provider determines the treatment is not safe for you: The payment hold is released immediately, and the order is canceled at no cost.
For patients enrolled in our comprehensive programs or memberships (such as weight loss or hormone replacement), the monthly membership fee is processed upfront. However, we are backed by our Medical Refund Guarantee.
In the rare event that the provider, after reviewing your assessments or lab results, decides you are not a suitable candidate for the subscription clinical program, we will immediately process a Full Refund (Manual) to your original payment method within 2 to 3 business days. Your subscription will be automatically canceled.
All sales of personalized treatments are final once the medication has been shipped or compounded by the pharmacy. Due to FDA regulations regarding the disposal of medications, we do not accept returns of prescription treatments shipped to patients.
You may cancel recurring treatments (subscriptions) at any time before the next billing cycle runs by contacting support.
Standard delivery time, once medically approved, is 2 to 3 business days. Orders submitted for review over the weekend will begin processing by providers on the following business day.
